Breakthrough Pet Family Services is a non-profit animal rescue organization that provides support to low-income families and their pets using a case management approach. The goal is to keep pets and their families together, and to keep pets out of shelters.
Pet Food Pantry
Our pet food pantry is located in Westchester County, NY, where we collect and distribute free pet food to struggling families in the area.
pet Foster and adoption
Through our foster and adoption program, we find foster homes for the pets of owners who are either temporarily, or permanently, unable to care for their cat or dog. Foster homes provide a safe, comfortable place for pets to stay until they are adopted, and are a humane alternative to animal shelters. If a pet needs to be rehomed, we work to find a loving forever home for that pet.

We know how hard it is to find pet-friendly housing, so we make it easier by providing clients with the information they need.
referrals to low-cost dog training
If your dog is displaying problem behaviors, please consider dog training before rehoming or surrendering him or her! We have partnerships with experienced dog trainers who can assess your dog’s needs and correct behavioral issues at a reduced cost.
